S3E7 — "These Fragile Lives"
Air date: November 3, 2024 · Director: Bruce McDonald · Writer: John Griffin (story by Griffin & Jeff Pinkner)
Synopsis
Fatima Hassan confesses her cravings to Kristi Miller, who believes she is experiencing a psychosomatic pregnancy — a physical manifestation of her fears. Fatima insists her pregnancy is real and that her cravings are only growing stronger. Worried that Fatima's deteriorating state might threaten Colony House, Donna Raines tells Boyd Stevens that she must leave.
Victor Kavanaugh becomes obsessed with making Jasper — Christopher's ventriloquist doll, found in the tunnels — talk, a fixation that concerns Henry Kavanaugh. Victor turns to Sara Myers for help, revisiting the childhood trauma tied to the doll.
Elgin Williams's camera produces a polaroid of a cellar. Investigating, he finds a hidden door — and behind it, a corpse. Dani Acosta questions Kenny Liu about the nature of the town and voices her distrust of Boyd, then breaks into the sheriff's station to retrieve her gun. Boyd confronts her and returns the gun — unloaded.
Jade Herrera, Tabitha Matthews, and Ethan Matthews travel to the settlement, where Jim is gathering food. They find painted rocks that match the ones from Tabitha's recurring nightmares. Jade theorizes that Tabitha was destined to find the town. Elsewhere, Randall Kirkland begins teaching Julie Matthews to drive until they come across the stone ruins previously discovered by Boyd.
Ellis Stevens tells Tillie that he is afraid of losing Fatima, and she promises to help. That evening, Fatima experiences intense pain at the greenhouse. Tillie moves to comfort her — and Fatima, losing control, stabs and kills her.
