Nicky — Shot by Acosta
Overview
Nicky was a resident of Colony House whose life ended in a tragic accident: on the night the ambulance arrived in the town (S3E04), officer Dani Acosta — fleeing the creatures — accidentally shot her. Marielle Sinclair tried to save her, but she died of the gunshot; alone with the body, Fatima Hassan drank her blood.
Biography
Nicky was a resident of the town living at Colony House under Donna Raines' leadership — a relative newcomer of the Season 3 period, though little is shown of her life before the accident. Her death came on the night the ambulance carrying Tabitha Matthews and Henry Kavanaugh arrived at the Township (S3E04). The creatures laid a trap and killed the drivers; Acosta, the police officer assigned to the ambulance, was chased by the creatures to Colony House, where she accidentally shot Nicky. Despite Marielle's attempts to save her, Nicky succumbed to the gunshot.
When alone with the body, Fatima — in the grip of her unnatural pregnancy cravings — impulsively consumed Nicky's blood, deepening the transformation that would eventually remake her into one of the creatures. Nicky's death hangs over Acosta as well: she apologizes to Boyd Stevens (S3E05) and carries the guilt through her later attempts to earn the town's trust.
Personality & Traits
Little of Nicky's personality is shown. She matters to the story through her death: an ordinary resident caught in an accident of panic, whose blood becomes fuel for Fatima's change and whose death becomes Acosta's burden.
