Reggie — Cicada Survivor

Overview

Reggie was a town resident (not one of the bus arrivals) caught up in the music box / cicada crisis of Season 2: the entity killed his wife in her sleep, and Reggie became the town's desperate warning that no one could fall asleep.

Biography

When the cicada entity began its attack, Reggie was the first resident to break. Boyd Stevens and Kenny Liu heard cicadas and watched Reggie flee his house screaming (S2E08). The next morning they found his wife dead in her bed — killed in her sleep by the cicadas. Before dying, she had spoken the entity's chant: "They touch, they break, they steal. No one here is free" (S2E09). Reggie was taken to Colony House, where he warned the residents that they must stay awake — a warning that drove the town's all-night vigil during the crisis. He is not among the three coma victims (Julie, Marielle, Randall), and no death is recorded for him in the canon status table.

Personality & Traits

A devastated husband; his terror and grief made him, briefly, the town's most important voice — the man who knew what was coming.

• Whether Reggie's wife is the resident recorded in the canon status table as Paula — both die in their sleep to the cicadas in S2E09 — is not confirmed in-show.
