Overview

Stone ruins standing in the forest, half-swallowed by roots and time — the surface marker of everything buried beneath the town. The ruins sit above the tunnels and the dungeon where Martin was chained and the music box stood, and they are where Julie Matthews performs her storywalks, glimpsing the town's buried history — including visions of the dungeon and the sacrificed children's story. They are the town's memory surfacing as architecture: the symbol is tied to them, and the dungeon entrance lies beneath their stones.

• Physical form: weathered stone structures in the forest — older than anything else standing in the town, suggesting the place (or something like it) existed long before the current residents arrived.
