Kelly — The Passenger Staked to a Tree

Overview

Kelly was one of the bus passengers who arrived at the end of S1E10. She and her boyfriend Brian went out into the woods near the animal traps at night and were caught by the creatures: Brian was killed, and Kelly was staked to a tree with a rod taken from one of the traps — left alive and conscious until Boyd Stevens ended her suffering in S2E03.

Biography

Kelly arrived on the bus with the other Season 2 newcomers (S2E01). When Donna Raines shot out the bus's tire to stop Bakta from driving out, the passengers were scattered and forced to shelter wherever they could. At some point during the following night — the same night the creatures hunted down everyone outside, killing Tom (S2E02) — Kelly and Brian found themselves in the woods near the town's animal traps. The creatures killed Brian and staked Kelly to a tree with a metal rod, one of the rods missing from Kenny Liu's traps, and left her there.

The next morning, Kenny (checking the traps) and Ellis (picking flowers) discovered her (S2E03). Kristi Miller examined her and broke the news that she would not survive. Kelly, in agony and begging for it to end, was mercy-killed by Boyd.

Personality & Traits

Kelly has little screen time; her defining moment is the creatures' cruelty made flesh — impaled, still alive, and forced to plead for death. Her ordeal is a textbook example of the creatures' habit of torturing for sport.
