S3E8 — "Thresholds"
Air date: November 10, 2024 · Director: Bruce McDonald · Writer: John Griffin (story by Griffin & Jeff Pinkner)
Synopsis
Boyd Stevens takes Fatima Hassan to an empty cabin in the woods, hiding her from the town. When Tillie's body is discovered, Boyd feigns ignorance of the circumstances. Dani Acosta and Kenny Liu begin questioning everyone, and Donna Raines and many residents accuse Sara Myers, whose history of violence makes her the natural suspect. Alone in the cabin, Fatima has a vision of the Kimono Woman.
Jim Matthews angrily confronts Jade Herrera at the bar for bringing Tabitha to the settlement. A hungover Henry Kavanaugh intervenes, drawing on his own hard-won perspective to help Jim calm down.
Julie Matthews and Ethan Matthews explore the stone ruins, where Julie has a vision of the dungeon in which Martin was chained — and of Martin urging her to save Boyd from the mineshaft. The vision triggers a seizure.
Sara and Tabitha Matthews help Victor recover a crucial memory: the day he saw Jasper talk as a child. He realizes that Christopher was not speaking through the doll — Christopher was speaking to the Boy in White, who explained the origins of the bottle tree. Victor then told his mother Miranda about it, and that knowledge inadvertently led to her death, a guilt Victor has carried for decades.
Boyd informs Donna that Fatima killed Tillie. Donna tries to make both Boyd and Ellis Stevens understand that Fatima has become too dangerous. Meanwhile Elgin Williams follows the visual instructions from his camera's polaroids, which lead him to the cabin — but by the time Boyd and Ellis arrive, it is empty. Elgin secretly leads Fatima to the cellar and traps her behind the hidden door.
