Kristi Miller — The Town's Doctor

Overview

Kristi Miller is the town's doctor — a medical student who arrived on the bus (S2E01) and became the one person everyone trusts with their life. She performs autopsies on creatures, treats the wounded through every catastrophe, and carries the town's medical burden almost alone. She is played by Chloe Van Landschoot.

Biography

Kristi arrives on the bus in S2E01 and quickly becomes indispensable: with no trained physician in town, she takes over the clinic. Her fiancée, nurse Marielle Sinclair, is also among the newcomers, and their reunion — after Kristi had grown close to Kenny Liu — reshapes her Season 2. Her medical work turns macabre when she autopsies the creatures: she finds them dry inside, filled with bile but no organs or blood (S2E07), evidence that the monsters are hollow in every sense.

Kristi is one of the three sleepers claimed by the cicada entity alongside Julie Matthews and Randall Kirkland; she is tormented by visions of the dungeon and the music box, and falls into a coma from which she wakes only when Boyd Stevens destroys the music box (S2E09–10). In Season 3 she treats the wounded from the barn massacre and cares for Fatima Hassan through her unnatural pregnancy. In Season 4 she stabilizes Donna Raines after Donna's heart attack (S4E06). Her worst loss comes in the finale: when a talisman falls in the clinic, Smiley enters and kills Marielle — who dies in Kristi's arms (S4E10).

Personality & Traits

Compassionate, competent, and unflappable under pressure. Kristi keeps the town alive with limited supplies and no backup, and she pays for that duty emotionally — especially in Season 2, torn between Kenny and Marielle, and in Season 4, when she loses the person she chose.
