Patty — A Resident Who Endured
Overview
Patty is a background resident of the town, present from the start of Season 3 through the end of Season 4. Like Meredith and other quiet residents, she is one of the town's survivors — present at every crisis, central to none.
Biography
Patty was part of the town's community from Season 3 onward, through the hardest stretch of the town's recorded history. She lived through the aftermath of the barn attack and Tian-Chen's death (S3E01–02); the famine, the settlement expeditions, and Dale's death at the pool (S3E05); Fatima's monstrous pregnancy and the birth of Smiley (S3E10); the straw-doll attack that killed Roger (S4E05) and the discovery of his reworked corpse (S4E06); Sophia's reanimation of the dead (S4E07); and the Man in Yellow's final campaign — the theft of the talismans and the uprooting of the bottle tree (S4E10).
Through all of it Patty remains in the background — at town meetings, in the diner, among the survivors — never singled out by the story, never taken by the creatures. As of S4E10 she remains among the living as darkness falls and the town's cycle appears to end.
